Tolu Adeleke-Aire is the founder of Tolu The Midwife and CEO, Maternity Hub (Nigeria).
Tolu The Midwife was created to serve as a platform to deliver health education to all pregnant women and their families in a bid to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality in Nigeria. Informed women make better health choices.
The Maternity Hub (Nigeria) was birthed to be a holistic one-stop community centre for all your antenatal and postnatal needs.
Tolu Adeleke-Aire is a U.K trained and dual certified Nurse and Midwife. Tolu has over ten years nursing and midwifery experience from many hospitals in England and Guernsey. Tolu also worked at London's premium private hospitals Portland Hospital and Kensington Suite (private maternity wing of Chelsea & Westminster Hospital). Tolu has cared for and delivered over 1000 mothers and babies.
Prior to relocating to Nigeria, Tolu completed an MSc in Healthcare Management and worked with the reputable University College, London (Department of Nutrition, London) as a (Band 8) Research Midwife studying breastmilk, the nutrients within and factors which affect and contribute to mothers achieving their breastfeeding goals.
Tolu is passionate about every mother's pregnancy journey and believes it should be a great experience for all women and her birthing partners. She desires to holistically support and empower all women to make informed decisions as they transition to parenthood in a relaxed and anxiety free mode.
In a bid to provide holistic care and support, Tolu has also started antenatal classes just for men, #DadsAntenatalNg which has been a great success. the importance of an inclusive and active father's input cannot be over emphasized, right from conception.
Tolu who was once a community midwife in London, was shocked and heartbroken to discover new mothers in Nigeria barely have any professional postnatal support.
Tolu is working hard to change this narrative and will be launching launch the first postnatal support groups with Mums & Bubs Brunch on Thursday 28th March 2019.
